About Lehigh Valley

Bethlehem Steel ran its flagship plant here for more than a century before closing for good in 1995 -- the single most consequential industrial collapse the Lehigh Valley ever absorbed. What replaced it wasn't another single anchor but a real diversification: the Lehigh Valley is now one of the busiest inland logistics and warehousing corridors on the East Coast, positioned between New York and Philadelphia, with a genuine life-sciences and healthcare research base (Lehigh University, St. Luke's, Lehigh Valley Health Network) built on top of it. Spans three counties across two states -- Lehigh and Northampton in Pennsylvania, Carbon further into the Poconos, and Warren just across the Delaware in New Jersey.
