Photon Queue

Photon Queue, a University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign quantum spinout founded in 2024, raised a $4M seed round led by Playground Global to accelerate development of quantum memory systems that can store photons at room temperature without cryogenics or vacuum systems. CEO Nathan Arnold notes the startup is doubling its five-person team by year-end and addressing quantum talent shortages.
