About Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay sits on the Gulf Coast and hosts MacDill Air Force Base, headquarters for U.S. Central Command — a defense anchor most people don't associate with a beach-adjacent metro. The University of South Florida anchors the research side of a region where defense and a growing med-tech sector sit side by side with tourism.
