Thrive Capital founder Josh Kushner and former Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger have agreed to buy control of the Los Angeles Lakers franchise. Deal values the Lakers at $12.5 billion, up from $10 billion valuation a year prior when Mark Walter purchased controlling stake. Kushner and Iger are purchasing Walter's stake (>70% ownership), meaning they are spending at least $8.75 billion. Other investors likely joining the ownership group. NBA board approval still required.
