SoundCloud has acquired Nina Protocol, a five-year-old Solana-based music platform that shut down in May 2026 after failing to achieve sustainable revenue. Nina Protocol had enabled independent artists to sell directly to fans while retaining all revenue. Transaction terms were not disclosed.
