AgiBot

AgiBot, a Shanghai-based humanoid robotics company co-founded in February 2023 by Peng Zhihui (former Huawei AI chip researcher) and Deng Taihua (former head of Huawei's computing business), designed and built its first humanoid robot A1 by August 2023 for electronics and automotive manufacturers. The company designed proprietary hands and joints with liquid cooling, partnering with Leadshine (industrial motion-control company) to develop custom motors integrated directly into joints. As of March 2026, AgiBot leveraged Shanghai's proximity to core component suppliers to solve mass-production challenges.
