Second only to New York as a US banking center, Charlotte carries Bank of America's and Truist's headquarters (the NCNB/First Union roots that built "Wall Street of the South") alongside a genuinely emerging battery and EV-materials cluster -- lithium recycling (Li Industries), battery separator manufacturing (Green New Energy Materials), and EV fast-charging hardware (Alpitronic's US headquarters).
