About Austin

Austin is the Texas state capital sitting at the edge of Hill Country, which gives it a geography — live music venues, a river running through downtown — that most tech hubs don't have. UT Austin is the anchor school, and the semiconductor industry got there early (Texas Instruments, later AMD and Samsung), well before the software wave that "Keep Austin Weird" now gets associated with.
