Lafayette anchors Cajun country and a real offshore-oil-services base. Lake Charles, in Calcasieu Parish, runs one of the largest petrochemical and LNG-export corridors on the Gulf Coast. Monroe and Ruston anchor northeast Louisiana. None of these are New Orleans or Baton Rouge, and this edition doesn't treat them as smaller versions of either.
