Block, the fintech firm cofounded by Jack Dorsey, applied to federal regulators (OCC) to establish Builders Bank & Trust, an uninsured national trust bank. The bank would not accept deposits or make loans, instead providing custody and services for cryptocurrency assets including bitcoin and stablecoins.
